About Fresh Marriage

The years after the wedding

Last updated August 13, 2026

We started Fresh Marriage in 2023 for a simple reason: the writing we wanted to read about settling in, money together, running a home mostly did not exist, and what did exist was selling something.

Everything we publish tries to be candid, even-handed, sceptical of relationship clichés, which mostly means saying what we actually think and showing the reasoning.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Settling In — The first year of actually living together, and what nobody warns you about.
  • Money Together — Joint accounts, separate accounts, and deciding who pays for what.
  • Running a Home — Chores, standards and the invisible labour arguments start over.
  • In-Laws & Families — Two families, two sets of expectations, and holding a boundary kindly.
  • Disagreeing Well — Recurring arguments, repair, and the difference between a row and a problem.
  • Growing Together — Careers, moves, plans and staying recognisable to each other.

How it is funded

We are advertising-funded and independently owned. No advertiser sees an article before publication, and none has ever been offered the chance. See the editorial policy.
