How this site is commissioned, checked, funded and corrected.
Last updated August 13, 2026
This page sets out how Fresh Marriage is made: how we choose what to cover, how we check it, how advertising is kept away from it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Independence
No advertiser, sponsor or commercial partner has any influence over what we publish. Advertising is sold and served separately from the newsroom; commercial staff do not commission, review or approve articles, and writers are not told which advertisers are running on the site.
Nothing here can be bought. We decline paid posts and link insertions as a matter of routine, and any commercially-supplied material we did run would be labelled as such before the first paragraph.
How we choose what to cover
Ideas come from the writers, from readers and from what we can see is being explained badly elsewhere. The test for commissioning is simple: will a reader be able to do something differently after reading it?
Accuracy and sourcing
- Every factual claim is checked against the original source, not against another article repeating it.
- Where the evidence is genuinely mixed, we report it as mixed and explain what the disagreement is about.
- Analysis and interpretation are clearly separated from established fact.
- Nothing here is personalised advice, and we say explicitly when a question needs a qualified professional.
Use of AI tools
Some of the drafting here is done with AI assistance. Every piece is then edited, checked and signed off by the writer whose name is on it, and that writer is the person accountable for what it says.
We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, statistics or people. Where a figure or a claim appears, it is checked before publication, and where we cannot verify something we leave it out or say that it is uncertain.
The words on Fresh Marriage are our own. The photographs are not: they are licensed from Pexels under its licence and the photographer is credited beneath every one. We choose each image for the article it sits with, and we do not present a photograph as if it documents a specific person, place or event it does not.
Corrections
If we publish something inaccurate we fix it. Substantive corrections are noted on the article itself with the date; typographical fixes are made silently. Nothing is quietly deleted to make a mistake disappear.
To report an error, write to corrections@freshmarriage.com or use the contact form and choose "Correction". Tell us the article, the sentence and what is wrong; we aim to respond within five working days.
Right of reply
If you or your organisation is the subject of criticism in an article and believe it is unfair or factually wrong, write to editorial@freshmarriage.com. We will consider a reply on the record.
Affiliate links and gifts
We do not currently run affiliate links. If that changes, affiliate links will be disclosed on the page that carries them and will never determine what we recommend.
Writers do not accept payment, gifts or hospitality from anyone they cover. Review items, where they exist, are returned or declared.
Reader data
How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy. In short: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell personal data, and advertising cookies only run if you agree to them.
